At Fairview Hospital for Animals, our veterinarian in Decatur is proud to offer laser therapy for both dogs and cats. Specifically, this therapy involves the use of state-of-the-art technology to send light energy into your pet's tissues; these wavelengths encourage the body's production of ATP, which revitalizes and repairs damaged cells. If your pet has recently suffered an injury or has an underlying medical condition, such as arthritis, you may want to speak to our veterinary team about laser therapy treatment.
There are so many benefits of using laser therapy for pets—particularly to reduce pain and encourage healing. For starters, the lasers used for this therapy are completely safe, as are the wavelengths produced by the lasers themselves. Furthermore, this procedure provides pain and symptom relief for pets without the need for risky, invasive procedures, making it a great alternative to explore if you have recently been told by another vet that your dog or cat needs surgery.
A laser therapy session also takes only about 10 minutes (though this can vary based on the size of the area being treated), and pets do not need to be put under any kind of anesthesia to complete the therapy. In fact, most pets find the procedure rather relaxing, and there is no pain or discomfort.
Overall, laser therapy can be a wonderful treatment option for pets who are suffering from:
Furthermore, laser therapy may help reduce the required healing time for pets who have recently suffered a bone fracture.

Services & More
I visit Fairview Animal Hospital at least once a week for a few of my fur-babies to receive laser therapy and the ENTIRE staff always shows genuine concern for my babies as well as me. They are always completely honest in the care they believe my pets need and only suggest treatments that they firmly believe would help my babies comfort. I have six dogs and two cats who all have their own issues and they know them all by name, know what their problems are and cater to their individual needs. The best part of this staff, is that every single one of my babies thoroughly enjoys their visits which is most important to me.
