Wellness Exams and Vaccines
At Fairview Hospital for Animals we recommend yearly examinations with annual vaccines. For dogs, we recommend Rabies, Distemper/Parvo/Leptospirosis and Bordetella. Depending on your pet's exposure, we may also suggest Lyme vaccine. Dogs also need to be tested yearly for heartworms and intestinal parasites. They also need to take monthly medication to prevent heartworms and intestinal parasites. There are many choices now for heartworm, flea and parasite control. Let us help you decide which is the best, so we can prevent your dog from getting deadly heartworms. For cats, the recommended vaccines are Rabies, Feline Distemper and possibly Feline Leukemia vaccine, depending on your cat's risk. We also recommend intestinal parasite screenings and flea control for cats.
Fairview Hospital for Animals offers a wide range of surgical procedures, including but not limited too, ovariohysterectomy (spay), castration (neuter), declaw, lumpectomy, Anterior Cruciate Ligament repair and spleenectomy. Dr. Robert Groesch has been performing small animal surgery since 1982 and has experience in numerous small animal surgical procedures. Dr. Groesch has also had training at Ohio State University in abdominal ultrasound and has been able to use these skills in our hospital. We offer on site radiology services. Our certified veterinary technician has been performing dentals at our clinic since 1994. The teeth are evaluated prior to cleaning, then scaled with an ultrasonic scaler and polished. Any teeth with periodontal disease at the gumline will be evaluated and extracted by Dr. Groesch if needed.
We offer indoor, temperature controlled boarding services for cats and dogs. For your pet's enjoyment, you may bring toys, blankets, beds or their own food. We can administer any medication as instructed for a nominal daily fee. Cat condos are available in a separate boarding area, to keep cats isolated from dogs. The condos also offer separate sleeping and feeding areas. All pets admitted for boarding must be flea and tick free, as well as current on required vaccinations. The required vaccinations are:
Dogs: Rabies, Distemper/Parvovirus/Leptospirosis 4, Bordetella
Cats: Rabies and Feline Distemper
We are pleased to offer bathing services. Baths include a nail trim, ear cleaning, anal sac expression and basic combout. If your pet requires a more extensive combout, you will be charged a nominal fee for the extra time. We also offer all off clip for those pet owner's wanting to offer some relief to their pet's from the summer heat. For the less cooperative pets, sedation is available. Pets admitted for bathing must be current on vaccines. Please see boarding section for required vaccines.
We offer counseling services for many behavioral issues, ranging from aggression to separation anxiety. Please call the office to schedule your pet's consultation. The Doctor's and staff are also trained in Veterinary Nutritional Advocacy. This allows us to help you choose the best food suited to your pet's medical condition. We sell and recommend Hill's Prescription Diets.
We also offer Behavioral counseling services though Dr. Rolan Tripp and the Animal Behavior Network. Upon us registering your email address on their website, you will receive emails to help with the day to day life of pet ownership. If more extensive counseling service is needed, we would refer you on directly to Dr. Tripp for a phone consultation. Please contact the office for more information on this service.

Services & More
I visit Fairview Animal Hospital at least once a week for a few of my fur-babies to receive laser therapy and the ENTIRE staff always shows genuine concern for my babies as well as me. They are always completely honest in the care they believe my pets need and only suggest treatments that they firmly believe would help my babies comfort. I have six dogs and two cats who all have their own issues and they know them all by name, know what their problems are and cater to their individual needs. The best part of this staff, is that every single one of my babies thoroughly enjoys their visits which is most important to me.
