Decatur Pet Vaccinations: Regularly-scheduled checkups ensure that your pet is current on their Rabies vaccinations and other preventative health matters such as monthly flea and tick preventatives and heartworm medication. Aside from required Rabies vaccinations, we also recommend vaccinations against Distemper, Parvovirus, Leptospirosis and Bordetella ("kennel cough") for dogs. Recommended pet vaccinations for cats include feline distemper and feline leukemia. During regular checkups, we also test for parasites and discuss other health concerns so we can catch problems before they become difficult to treat.
Spay and Neuter and Other Surgeries: Having your pet spayed and neutered is an important aspect of responsible pet ownership. Spay and neuter surgeries curb overpopulation and reduce your pet's risk for several types of cancer and behavioral problems. We also perform ACL repairs, declawing, C-Sections, patellar luxation repairs, exploratory/laparotomy surgeries, and skin and organ biopsy procedures.
Pet Dental Cleaning: Just like humans, pets can suffer pain, cavities, infection and illnesses to the heart, kidneys, liver, lungs and nervous system if dental problems are left unchecked. Our pet dental care includes a complete oral examination, along with dental scaling, polishing and extractions if necessary. We also educate pet owners on how to keep their pets' teeth clean at home. Our certified veterinary technician has been providing dental cleanings since 1994.
Boarding: We offer indoor, temperature controlled boarding services for cats and dogs. For your pet's enjoyment, you may bring toys, blankets, beds or their own food. We can administer any medication as instructed for a nominal daily fee. Cat condos are available in a separate boarding area, to keep cats isolated from dogs. The condos also offer separate sleeping and feeding areas. All pets admitted for boarding must be flea and tick free, as well as current on required vaccinations. The required vaccinations are:
Dogs: Rabies, Distemper/Parvovirus/Leptospirosis 4, Bordetella
Cats: Rabies and Feline Distemper
Cancellation Policy: We require 72 hours notice for cancellation of boarding reservations. For holiday boarding, we have a no cancellation policy. Once you make the reservation you will be billed for the cage regardless of whether or not you show up. Holiday boarding includes Easter, New Years, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Labor Day, Memorial Day and 4th of July.
Veterinary Dermatology: The skin and coat of your pets are a reflection of their inner health. They can suffer from any number of parasites, skin allergies and skin infections that can cause them pain and discomfort. If your pet has any scabs or lumps, or scratches and licks itself incessantly, call us for a veterinary dermatology appointment.
Pet Bathing and Pet Boarding-We also provide pet bathing services that include comb-outs, summer trims, nail clipping, ear cleaning and anal gland expressing. Not only will your pet feel clean and fresh afterward, but this is another chance for us to check for possible skin and hair problems. Our comfortable, climate-controlled boarding areas provide a great home-away-from home for your pet when necessary. Both our boarding and bathing services require that pets be flea- and tick-free and up-to-date on all of their shots.
Please call us at 217-428-7709 to schedule an appointment for any of our services.
Our convenient drop-off service ensures your pet receives necessary care, even if you have to work. Drop-offs start as early as 7:40, and pets need to be picked up before close at 5:30. We look forward to seeing you!

Services & More
I visit Fairview Animal Hospital at least once a week for a few of my fur-babies to receive laser therapy and the ENTIRE staff always shows genuine concern for my babies as well as me. They are always completely honest in the care they believe my pets need and only suggest treatments that they firmly believe would help my babies comfort. I have six dogs and two cats who all have their own issues and they know them all by name, know what their problems are and cater to their individual needs. The best part of this staff, is that every single one of my babies thoroughly enjoys their visits which is most important to me.
